Bill Tym’s Perfect Practice Formula

Creating a Perfect Practice

Practice the way you compete / compete the way you practice

Most important habit: How to solve the problem.

“The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise, and thinking that having problems is a problem.”

-Theodore Rubin

Most important aspect of a successful shot: Position of the racquet face in relation to the ball at the point of contact.

Basic assumption: Whenever I hit the ball, it WILL return, and it will PROBABLY return to the logical opening.

Power: Hit the ball as hard as you want, providing:

  1. You maintain your consistency
  2. You maintain your accuracy
  3. You are able to return to optimum tactical position before your opponent hits the ball

Actual Experience + Synthetic Experience = Perfect Practice
