An Online Mental Toughness Training Program

For the past couple of months, I’ve been working on a project to virtualize the mental toughness and competitive skills training program that I do with individual athletes, and I can now announce that it is complete!

I’ve entitled it The Good Athlete to Great Competitor program and it consists of 12 modules with each containing videos and other materials to help you develop your competitive skills. I’ve structured this to work just like an online course that you would take from a school/university. The ideal pace for this program is one module per week, but you can choose to take it at a more comfortable pace for your own schedule. There is homework and practice involved so giving yourself a week between modules is a good idea so that the concepts can begin to take hold in your mind. The program is not specific to any one sport, but rather uses examples from a number of different sports so that any athlete can benefit from the material.

The program focuses on the following:

  • Daily evaluations of performance based on behaviors and character traits
  • Exercises to develop motivation and commitment
  • Using writing and journaling as a means of training mental skills
  • Creating a goal achievement plan
  • Weekly accountability for key routines and weekly goals
  • Choosing to focus on what you can control
  • Developing confidence
  • Using your strengths in competition to perform fearlessly

I believe that a very large percentage of sports performance is mental and if you do too, then you know that your training schedule has to reflect that belief. This program/course will absolutely take an athlete to the next level in terms of competitive performance so let’s get started today.
